Mary Ellen Miller joined the 50-50 in 2020 board in July of 2013 and became the organization’s Executive Director in January of 2014. She has served on the boards of the League of Women Voters of Iowa, Iowa Federation of Republican Women and 1000 Friends of Iowa and has been involved in numerous civic organizations and fundraising activities. She was Fred Grandy’s statewide coordinator during his primary race for Governor. After serving two terms as a North Iowa Area Community College trustee, she ran for the Iowa House in 1992 and the Senate in 2002. She has also served as a clerk in the Iowa House of Representatives.
She is always available to make a presentation on 50-50 in 2020’s programs to “Elect More Women” and the value of gender equity in elective offices.
