Courtney Maxwell Greene is a Des Moines native, who attended Des Moines East High School and earned a degree in communication studies and journalism from the University of Iowa. She worked 15 years in television news as a reporter, producer and anchor at WHO TV-13, KCCI TV-8, and WDAF Fox 4 News in Kansas City. She also spent four years in Iowa state government as the governor’s press secretary and as public information bureau chief for the Department of Public Safety.

She also has private sector experience in public relations at Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield, and non-profit experience as vice president for enrollment and communications at AIB College of Business.

Courtney started with Iowa Workforce Development in July of 2015 and leads all internal and external marketing and communications as the Communications Director.

She lives in West Des Moines with her two teenaged daughters.
